Solo Smuggling and Wizard of Who

Wizard of Who and Solo Smuggling
Its been a little while since I got around to posting here! I (probably) won't leave it as long next time, its just that I've been busy. Busy getting some designs done and getting in contact with some people who want to sell my designs. This is basically a long winded way of saying that two of my designs, Wizard of Who and Solo Smuggling are up for sale for $12 right now.

Wizard of Who is at BlueBoxTees until the end of October 22nd and Solo Smuggling is at CosmosTees until the end of October 20th. So all you Whovians and Star Wars fans looking for a new T-shirt can get your hands on those for a bargain price for a little while.

When the sales are over both of these designs will still be available through Redbubble and Society6 along with a whole bunch of other stuff. I've also started a store at Teepublic so look out for more designs appearing there!

General Grievous

General Grievous, Doodle Dojo style.
WeLoveFine.com are having a Star Wars dark side competition, so naturally I had to get involved. General Grievous is one of those characters that gets a bit of a bad press, which is a shame, because he looks awesome. Not to mention that in the Clone Wars he is awesome. So I thought I'd try and do my bit to make him a bit more awesome. The added bonus is that if this shirt gets enough votes, there is a chance that it will get made into an officially licensed Star Wars design. If you can spare a few moments to send a score my way it would be very much appreciated! Just click through to WeLoveFine to vote.

Solo Smuggling

Captain Solo runs the best smuggling operation in the galaxy.
Captain Solo's Smuggling is the best in the galaxy. Ideal for those times when you need to avoid 'imperial entanglements' (that does cost you a little extra though). Time sensitive deliveries are a speciality, if you need to get stuff delivered in twelve parsecs or less, he's the man to trust.

I haven't done anything Star Wars related for a while so when I came up with an idea for making a logo for Solo Smuggling I thought I may as well go for it. I started out working on modern corporation style logos but as I carried on sketching it started to turn into something a bit more old fashioned and typographic. I got a bit carried away with the filigree patterning as well, which was fun to do once you get properly in the zone!

This one is available on light and dark backgrounds at Redbubble and Society6. All the details are at the Doodle Dojo Store.

Ackbar

Check out Ackbar's multicar Insurance Deals!
While watching TV the other day and an advert for Admiral Car Insurance came on. This is only going to make sense if you live in the UK I'm afraid but geography still counts for something in this world so there you go. I was idly thinking to myself that the only admiral I was ever bothered by was Ackbar and this idea just appeared straight away. I started sketching everyone's favourite Mon Calamari admiral, and in the end I was pleased enough with my doodling to turn into something a bit more polished up.

So here it is. A fairly weak joke based on a UK only insurance firm released into the wide world of the internet. Sounded like a great plan at the time.

As usual this is available at my Redbubble and Society6 stores on a wide range of awesome stuff. Head over to the Doodle Dojo Store to find all the info in one place.

Licensed to Rebel

No sleep 'til Endor
Sci-fi and music in the same illustration. When I first heard the Beastie Boys I was very small indeed, much like when I first saw Star Wars. They left a bit of an impression, especially the iconic cover of Licensed to Ill. I'm not really sure how this mash-up made it into my head, but once it was there I had to see what it would look like. The Rebels and the Beasties are both pretty anti-establishment and there is no better symbol of the Star Wars establishment than the Star destroyer. Unless maybe its the Death Star, but then what would the destroyer have to crash into?

If you think it's time to get ill then you might want to get over to Redbubble or Society6 and check out some of the T-shirts, iPhone cases, posters and stickers available. All the details are on the Doodle Dojo Store.

Freestyle Scout

Biker Scouts blaze their own trails.
Being a biker scout is a different way of life to being a regular trooper. They like to live on the edge, pushing the envelope as far as it will go.

This is my entry for We Love Fine's Star Wars contest. I couldn't help but do something for the chance to get an official Star Wars shirt under my belt. As usual it had to be a little bit different to satisfy my sense of silliness. All it needs now is some votes from you awesome people! Head over to Welovefine.com to give your score. Thanks in advance!

Where's Wookiee

Where has that Wookiee got to now?
I was looking at my son's Where's Wally books (Where's Waldo over the water) when this little idea hit me. I had to get sketching! After trying (unsuccessfully) to do a full page of finding the wookiee like inside the books I had a better idea and tried making it look like a book cover instead. This version worked out a lot better and, after drawing more Star Wars charactersin one go than I have since school, I came up with this. I'm pretty pleased with the end result and so far lots of other people seem to like it too, which is always really nice to hear!

As always this is available in my Redbubble store and on Society6 as prints, iPhone cases, greeting cards and T-shirts. Click on over to the Doodle Dojo Store for more info.

Urk Urk's Gaffi Stick Emporium

Urk Urk's Gaffi Stick Emporium. The best Gaffi Sticks in the Jundland Wastes
Urk Urk is the Tusken raider equivalent of Hatori Hanzo. If you need a quality Gaffi stick, he's the one to get it from. Just head out into the Jundland Wastes and follow Beggar's Canyon. It's just behind the big rock, you can't miss it! Plenty of bantha fodder is available for all our patrons, just make sure you come in single file to hide your numbers.

I don't think its possible to run out of ideas for Star Wars designs. Urk Urk is the way I refer to the Tusken Raider that knocks Luke out. I thought that they must have shops and stuff and why wouldn't they have an Emporium as well, I'm sure they aren't just savages!

Available on loads of stuff at Redbubble. Just check out the Doodle Dojo Store for more details.

Low Flying Spacecraft on Tee Raiders

Health and Safety are important in the modern workplace.
The awesome people at TeeRaiders.com have decided to print Low Flying Spacecraft! That means that you will be able to get hold of this Star Wars based design for 72 hours for only $10! It will be available from Monday 26th through to the end of Wednesday 28th of December. TeeRaiders also sell hoodies starting from $30 so if you need to keep yourself a bit warmer you can get one of those instead.

Head on over to my Facebook page to get the latest info on print dates and new designs as soon as it happens. I'm thinking of having a bit of a giveaway when I get past a certain number of likers, and in tribute to the Star Wars-ness of this design I think the magic number has got to be 66. So share with your friends, tweet to your twips(?) and reblog to your followers to make sure that magic number gets hit.

Stormtrooper Eyetest

Random stormtrooper eye testing begins on the Death Star
Stormtroopers always seem to get a bad rap for being rubbish at things like shooting guns at people. But I think its a bit harsh myself. Its no good blaming them when the emperor wouldn't hire a decent optometrist when he was building the Death Star. Lots of money for detention centres and garbage crushers, nothing for vision correction. He was going to put it right for Death Star 2 though, the optometrist moved in the day before the rebels attacked. Things just might have been different if it had been a week or two earlier.

The Doodle Dojo Store has the links to get yourself one of these on a T-shirt, sticker or iPhone case.

Low Flying Spacecraft

Health and Safety on the Death Star
The Death Star can be a dangerous place, the clue is in the name really. But no matter how dangerous it is, it can always be made a bit safer by those wonderful people from health and safety. Even Darth Vader understands that good men are hard to train, so he doesn't want them lost to avoidable accidents.

Star Wars is the film that got me into all the other sci-fi in the world. Its probably the biggest single thing to turn me into the geek I am now. So it had to happen that one of my ideas was Star Wars related eventually. Well here it is, so what do you think?

Obviously, this is available on T-shirts from Redbubble over at the Doodle Dojo Store. There is also a version on their brand new iPhone cases and of course there are stickers too. So get yourself on over there and take a look!

Update

This design (along with some others!) is now up for voting on Qwertee.

Give it a vote and it may well be going to print for two days. Screen print quality and a low price as well? What are you waiting for? :-)
